Job description

Nexlyr AI is an AI-native B2B productivity tool which acts as an AI-analyst. It analyses a business’s own set of documents into a structured analysis and creates a genuinely editable PowerPoint presentation. It is not one of those slide generators with a chatbot bolted on. The AI writes SQL, a real query engine computes the numbers from a large number of compatible file types, and every figure on the final deck traces back to a source. Any fact or figure not traced to a source is scrubbed away. Nexlyr AI never invents a number and never generates a flattened image. Every deck is grounded in the customer’s own data, and every output is consistent, standardised and brand identical.

The product is live at nexlyrai.uk. It is built. Real pipeline, real payments, customers ready to sign up.

What I am looking for

Someone who wants to own the business with me, willing to do whatever it takes to make it successful. Someone with the skill set of a technical leader and the instincts of an implementation specialist.

At this stage that means wearing multiple hats at once, because there is nobody else to wear them:

  1. The Technical hat: You own the build. Next.js and TypeScript, Postgres, a real analysis engine, a provider-agnostic AI layer, async job pipelines, cost control. You have experience shipping and operating a production-grade product with a data pipeline behind it, not just CRUD over a database. You have worked with LLM APIs seriously enough to have opinions about where they lie and how to stop them.
  2. The Marketing hat: The product is built. The next step is to launch it in the market. You can write, position, run a launch, talk to a stranger about their work and hear the problem underneath what they say. You have opinions about channel, pricing and story, and you will go and test them rather than argue about them. Our ideal customers are enterprise users who are looking for a productivity tool. It is one of a kind tool, so understanding customer needs and mapping them to product features is important.
  3. The Chief of Staff hat: You see the big picture and have the mindset of a visionary. You notice the thing nobody owns and pick it up. You close the loop without being asked about it. You will tell me I am wrong, with the reasoning, and then commit fully once we decide.

You decide, you ship, you find out. Nobody is going to give you a backlog. You would rather do the unglamorous thing that works than the impressive thing that does not.

Nice to have: a consulting, finance or analyst background, or you have personally suffered building decks under a deadline. You know the pain when the same presentation needs to be updated with minor changes every few days and want to save others from that hassle.
